"Pirandai" can be used in many ways. It is more delicious in a "Thokku" or can even be made into a pickle.Pirandai has many medicinal benefits. It is used in Ayurvedic medicine for stomach disorders and even as a poultice for sprains. Crushed paste form (thuvaiyal)of this pirandai is very useful in treating swelling due to injury, pain, catch etc. It stimulates energy and give briskness, increases memory power, strengthen the brain nerves, strengthen the bones.
Pirandai Thokku is quite intense and a little goes a long way. In our home, the Thokku is the easiest way of getting this special nutrient into my kids. It’s also the perfect accompaniment to idli/dosa, Curd rice and etc.
Ingredients : Pirandai, Garlic, Dry red chilli powder, Gingelly oil,Salt, Asafoetida, Fenugreek seeds powder.
Best With : Idly, dosai, Curd rice, Chappathi, rice mixed with ghee.
